"I want to change printers but the Club Office printing screen does not offer a choice to change to a different printer either on my network or to another printer connected to my computer. Likewise, there's no way to change the printer's font from what Club Office uses. How do I do these things?"
[techsupport/footer.htm]You're right, Club Office currently does not offer a printer dialogue box that allows changing either the printer destination or the printer setup. These are reserved for future features as we work hard to polish some of the more necessary rough-edges out of the product. For now, if you need to change the printer destination or printer setup, the following works quite well and is actually quite efficient:
- Exit the current Club Office module back to the main Club Office pyramid menu.
- Click START - SETTINGS - PRINTERS, to open your printers folder.
- Right-click on the printer you wish to use, and set it to be the DEFAULT printer. If you wish, you can also go to the printer's properties and change other printer-related issues such as paper tray, etc.
- Close the printers folder and restart the module you were using. Now all your printing will be directed to your chosen printer.
Changing Fonts isn't so easy. We have hard-coded the Arial font into all the reports for compatibility's sake, as well as to allow us to fit everything on the page. If we allowed you to change fonts on the fly, many reports wouldn't fit on the page! We selected Arial because it's supplied with every Windows installation and is therefore a predictable commodity. It's also easy to read and is scalable from 4 points all the way up to as big as we need to go. There are many other fonts that we like a lot and would actually prefer for some reports, but we don't have a license to distribute them with our products. We've got selectable fonts on our wish list -- maybe someday we'll provide that feature, too.
