How to fix a "bad punch record"

A "bad punch" record can periodically occur if your system is set to track employees. The error condition normally appears when trying to start the register. To fix the problem, you must run a utility that forces the employees to be punched "out."

InfoTouch 2000

  1. Be absolutely certain thatno users are logged into InfoTouch before you begin.
  2. Build a desktop shortcut to run the CLOCKCLR.BAT file. Your shortcut target like would likely read something like this:  c:\it2000\vertical\clockclr.bat
  3. The program has terse but helpful on-screen help and it will tell you when a certain employee last logged in. Press the Y key to log that employee out, and continue through the entire employee file, logging the employees out as necessary.
  4. When done, the module should close automatically.
  5. Restart InfoTouch as normal.

InfoTouch for DOS

  1. Be absolutely certain that no users are logged into InfoTouch before you begin.
  2. Type CD TNS to get into the TNS directory.
  3. If using version 8 for DOS, type CLKOUT8 and press ENTER to run the module. If you are NOT using version 8 for DOS, type CLOCKOUT instead.
  4. The program has terse but helpful on-screen help and it will tell you when a certain employee last logged in. Press the Y key to log that employee out, and continue through the entire employee file, logging the employees out as necessary.
  5. When done, the module should close automatically.
  6. Restart the computer.
