How to add a network workstation node to Club Office

Scenario: The club originally purchased a 2-user system and now wants to expand to 3..

  1. Exit Club Office to the Windows desktop.
  2. Open My Computer, then open the drive that is mapped to Club Office on your server computer.
  3. Open the CDCO folder; the files will likely be listed alphabetically. Look for the file called cdconwpk.exe. It's marked with the following icon:
  4. Double-click on cdconwpk.exe to start it. Don't type anything yet; but call Club Data for the access code to add another network node. You actually did this when you originally registered your software -- now you need a new authorization code to open up access for three simultaneous users. After you type the new code, the system will open up the capability for the 3rd user.
  5. Close the cdconwpk module and all the other screens back to the desktop.
  6. Go to the computer that you want to add to the Club Office system.
  7. Map a network drive to the Club Office system from this computer. You may have to ask your system administrator for help in performing this basic, Windows networking task. Full details are in the "Getting Started with Club Office" guide you received when the software was first delivered to you.
  8. Let's assume that you mapped drive P: to the Club Office system -- for the remainder of this How To document, you'd want to substitute drive P: with the drive letter you actually used.
  9. Open My Computer, then open drive P:
  10. Find the cdco folder, and open it by double-clicking on it. The files will likely be listed alphabetically.
  11. Now look through the list of files in the cdco folder for one called cdconode.exe.
It is marked with the following icon:
  12. Double-click on cdconode.exe to start it.
  13. In the first box, type the number of this node. In this case, you're adding node #3 so type 3.
  14. In the second box, type the drive letter you mapped to Club Office. (In this example, you'd type the letter P)
  15. In the third box, type the drive letter of your local hard disk. In most cases this is drive C.
  16. Click the TEST button. The module will verify the settings and if correct, the dark gray helpwindow will indicate whether the test was successful. If it was, you'll be able to continue and click the FINISH button. This actually finalizes the link between this computer and your Club Office system.
  17. When done, click EXIT.
