How to move a current network workstation node to
another computer
Scenario: You want to disconnect one computer from Club Office
and connect a different computer.
- There is no need to call Club Data -- you are only moving
a node not adding one.
- Go to the computer that you want to disconnect.
- Exit Club Office to the Windows desktop.
- Open My Computer, then right-click on the drive that is
mapped to Club Office on your server computer.
- Select the "disconnect" option on the list. In
a moment or two, the drive letter will disappear.
- Close My Computer
- Delete any desktop shortcuts that started Club Office.
This is easy to do: simply single-click on them and then
press the DELETE key on your keyboard.
- Go to the computer that you want to add to the Club
Office system.
- Map a network drive to the Club Office system from this
computer. You may have to ask your system administrator
for help in performing this basic, Windows networking
task. Full details are in the "Getting Started with
Club Office" guide you received when the software
was first delivered to you.
- Let's assume that you mapped drive P:
to the Club Office system -- for the remainder of this
How To document, you'd want to substitute drive P: with the drive
letter you actually used.
- Open My Computer, then open drive
P:
- Find the cdco folder, and open it by double-clicking on
it. The files will likely be listed alphabetically.
- Now look through the list of files in the cdco folder for
one called cdconode.exe.
It is marked with the following icon:

- Double-click on cdconode.exe
to start it.
- In the first box, type the number of this node. In this
case, you're moving node #3 so type 3.
- In the second box, type the drive letter you mapped to
Club Office. (In this example, you'd type the letter P)
- In the third box, type the drive letter of your local
hard disk. In most cases this is drive C.
- Click the TEST button.
The module will verify the settings and if correct, the
dark gray helpwindow will indicate whether the test was
successful. If it was, you'll be able to continue and
click the FINISH
button. This actually finalizes the link between this
computer and your Club Office system. Note that you may
receive a message that says that the node was previously
used and that the new settings would overwrite the old
ones. That's fine since that's exactly what you want to
do.
- When done, click EXIT.
