How to
Reprogram the Touch Screen controller with MicroCal
- Download the MCAL.ZIP
microcal software to your C:\TNS directory.

- Get to a
DOS prompt in the C:\TNS directory.
- Unzip the
software on your computer by typing PKUNZIP MCAL from
your C:\TNS prompt. The software will then be in your TNS
directory along with all the other InfoTouch files.
- At the C:\TNS prompt, type
MICROCAL to start the program. Then press the SPACE bar
to get the main menu screen.
- Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys
to highlight DIAGNOSTICS; press <ENTER>.
- Highlight FIND TOUCH
SCREEN; press <ENTER>.
- Highlight SERIAL; press
<ENTER>. If it finds the touch screen, it will beep
and display information on the right side of the screen
in the STATUS window. Write down what it says for PORT,
BAUD and PARAMETERS.
- Throughout the next few
steps, you'll periodically see a red warning screen that
reminds you that you're changing settings. Ignore the
warning screens because that's exactly what you want to
do. Get back to the main MicroCal screen.
- Highlight CALIBRATION and
press <ENTER>. Touch the crosshairs as they appear
on the screen.
- Highlight CONFIGURE and
press <ENTER>. Select Sensitivity, set it to high
if there's a lot of humidity in the air, normal if
humidity is very low.
- Highlight Data Protocol,
then SELECT protocol, and choose HEX STREAM.
- Highlight AUTO BAUD
DETECTION ENABLE and press <ENTER>, select DISABLE.
- Highlight COMMUNICATION
PARAMETERS and press <ENTER>
- Select N,7,2 and press
<ENTER>
- Then highlight selections
to EXIT and continue to exit the program. You should be
back at the C:\TNS prompt.
- Type CD\ and press
<ENTER> to get to the C:\ prompt
- Now you should be able to
restart your system. If it still does not work properly,
you may have to calibrate the touch screen from InfoTouch
as well: click here: InfoTouch Calibration
